6′ Meatball Sub w. Chips — $8

I had heard that Fino’s on the Hill has the best meatball sub in town, but when you wake up at 1 in the afternoon and don’t have time to drive across town, you compromise. Vanelli’s Deli in Germantown across from the G’town Library also seems to have quite a number of fans for its meatball sub. It’s a straightforward, simple sub. I got hints of Christmas in these meatballs. Nutmeg? Cinnamon? Clove? Not a bad deal at all for $8 but in the event you live next door to Fino’s and wake up late in the afternoon, Vanelli’s wouldn’t be worth a drive across town.
